The children in Year One have been learning about Toys in the past and a trip to Weston Museum helped visualise many of the toys they had been finding out about. A particular favourite were the old bears.
In the Education room the children were able to become hands on with the artefacts. They looked at some old Noddy books.
There was also the chance to dress up in old clothing and use some of the old household items. This provided stimulus for the Year One topic Homes the children will do after Christmas
A week later the Year One children had a visit from a lady called Julia who brought in lots of old toys for the children to look at and play with.
Julia talked to the children about the materials toys are made from and the importance of recycling.
