Year Two

The Year 2 children have had a wonderful time this term with their topic INDIA. This book was created by Seagulls class. Sophie and Matthew said "People will learn alot from our book because it has lots of facts in it. There are lots of pictures of elephants and information about them."

Peacocks are the national bird of India. They are colourful with beautiful feathers that have `eyes` on them to frighten other animals away .

These are Mehndi Patterns.

When Indian ladies get married they decorate their hands with ground up leaves and when they wipe the mixture off a pattern is left.

The Mango pattern comes in different colours and is used to decorate clothes and blankets.

  The Taj Mahal took 20 years to build! This model didn't take quite as long!

It took 20,000 workmen to build it and was built in Agra. (written by Florence and Jamie).

The Taj mahah is symmetrical on both sides. It has 43 semi-precious stones in the crown. (written by Sonny and Angelina)
